Plaid Nails!!
Probably one of my favorite designs this year. With the help of my nail brushes and my quick dry spray, this design honestly did not take me more than 30-45 minutes.
1. To start, I used my OPI Matte Nail Envy Basecoat.
2. I then did two layers of my white (I’m using an Orly one I’m not super impressed with, but any white will do). I feel bad the reject polish made it into the picture but, hey, what can you do.
3. Once the white was COMPLETELY dry, I painted a stripe with OPI’s Italian Love Affair (pink) in the off-center right of all my nails with my largest nail art brush. It took my two swipes of the nail art brush to get the pigmentation the way I wanted, but it dried quickly.
4. I then used my smaller nail brush to do my two lines of red: one down the right of the pink stripe and one near the bottom of my nail. The red I used was Essie’s Sure Shot.
5. My final step was to paint the two black lines on the top of my nail, and two down the opposite side of the pink stripe. Then, of course, wait 20 minutes for your nails to dry and do a top coat. I then sprayed my nails with my fast drying OPI spray, which is a God send, especially in wet, hot weather.
You can do this design with a purple/green/yellow background, you can do it with a different colored stripe… the possibilities are really endless with the plaid design. I really enjoyed it and I hope you guys do, too.
Feel free to ask me questions and please, if you are inspired by my designs, post your own and show me! <3
My name is Noelle Alysse, and I'm 20. I am not a beauty guru. With that being said, I'm learning. I love youtube videos about beauty, and tutorials and all of that. But one thing that bugs me is that every girl who makes them seems to have an unlimited budget. I'm paying my own way through college in Boston. My funds are LIMITED. So, this blog is about how I get by with what I have, for all the girls out there who can't afford to stroll into Sephora every time they need a new eyeliner. Again, I'm not a guru, so let's learn together! Hopefully I will start a youtube channel to make videos but I hate the sound of my own voice, so I'll have to get over that first. Enjoy! xox
